My case was approved Sept 28. Got email on 30th. I scheduled an appt on infopass immediately and the earliest date i got was 10/12/2004. Got approval notice on 6th oct. Got my stamping done today.

Experience was good. got there 20-30 mins in advance. Didnt let me in till 15 mins before. Went in, got a token, waited for like 10-15 mins. My number was called and I was done with stamping in 5 mins. Went to SS office and updated my record by showing the stamping. That took like 30 mins of waiting, but they took my old ssn card, gave me a receipt. Will send my new card in a couple of weeks.

Now, its just waiting for the card.

Good luck to all.

Thanks for the info. I did not know that, we should go to SS office... My pp was stamped on Sep 15th...

what are the documents to be carried to SS office?

Some say it is necessary, some say its ok even if you dont do it. But, i would say just go do it. They will remove the "Allowed to work only if authorized by INS" clause that you will find on your card.

Just your passport with 551 stamp, your ssn card, and a form, that will be available in the SSA office. Go fill out that form with all your information, show them the above and they ll update your records for you.

Directions on yahoo maps are good enough.

If you are travelling from north, take 280 South, take Seventh Street/Virginia street exit. Take a right at the exit. Take a left on First street. Go straight. First street becomes Monterey. You will find the CIS office on the right. No. 1887.
