Update on I-485!!

Hi All,

An RFE was issued on Aug 04, 2004. CIS asked me the following:

1. Birth Certificate.
2. Medical.
3. Letter from the Employer
4. 2 years of income proof.

It took me a long time to gather all this information. Finally today finally my lawyer mailed all the information to the USCIS.

But in the mean time my FP has expired on Aug 22, 2004. I haven't heard anything from CIS yet. But I will keep you guys updated. ANyways thanks to all of you who helped me.

I wonder if anybody has/had the same experience. When close to your FP1 expiring you get RFE. What happens next? Am I suppose to wait for FP2 notice or wait for the results of RFE?

If your Reply to RFE is reached before the expiration of First FP then there is every posibility that it can be Approved provided if your NAME CHECK and other checks on your case should have been completed and ready to be adjudicated.. If it reaches after the expiration of FP then they will send you a second FP.

Haven't we seen a few cases in the forums here getting approved without FP2? I guess they just got lucky. You never know.
