Until what stage can we process two applications...

Me and my wife have 2 LC s pending and at the current rate expect to clear them in next 2-3 months for both.

I am not sure when we may have to choose one application over the other and have to forego the other...?

If only one can file I485... can we just file our own 485 as we are processing in different regions; and add other after some time...depending on the rate of process...

Any other ideas, caveats etc...
