Unemployment benefits

Hi,

I became a US PR through future employment.After getting GC, I have worked for the sponsor for over 7 months.Then got laid off.

I have been unemployed for one and half months now.

Can i explore my options for getting unemloyment benefits ?
Does it impact future citizenship prospects ? (I am planning to sponsor my parents after citizenship.)

You should have walked out of the office and straight to the UI bureau.

What are you waiting for?

This is not 'assistance'. it is employer funded insurance.

Now, 7 months of work may or may not qualify you for UI, but you need to check twith your state office.

As to affecting citizenship. No. As to affecting sponsorship of parents, don't you think you'll have a job 5 years from now? c'mon
