Hi everyone,
I've been told that H1B holders don't get unemployment. However, I'd like to know if I could get unemployment if I marry my fiance (she a US citizen, and I am an H1B holder with a job), and I'm laid off in the future.
Is there a wait period before I would be eligleable for unemployment?
I also assume that I would have to apply for a working permit right after getting married, and also a GC. Right?
Even though I have my H1B, it would be nice to have the working permit that you get when marrying an american. Therefore I would be able to change companies without the hassle of new H1B every time.
Hopefully somebody can answer this questions
Thanks!
