Unemployment Benefits Claim in California - Please Help !!

hi !

Has anyone on this board filed for unemployment benefits in California State ?

What is the actual procedure ? Does one file the Unemployment Insurance Application ( Form # DE 1101 I) once ?

There is talk of filing weekly claim form, but where can I find that ?
Or do I need to file this Unemployment Insurance Application every week ?

I am finding EDD\'s instructions pretty confusing. Will appreciate any help in this regard.

I don\'t know how in CA

But in WA it\'s organized nicely. You go to www.wa.gov=>employment=>
unemployment insurance and starting from this you can do EVERYTHING from your computer.
Very convenient for everybody regarding high unemployment rate.
Hope CA is not that bad in this point.

Call 1-800-300-5616 to begin your 1st claim.
Have your SSN number and A# ready.
You will get a claim form in the mail a few days later.
With each UI check you will get a new claim form that covers two weeks. You need to file every 2 weeks.
