Unconditional GC and divorce

I got my i751 approved a month ago; yesterday I caught my USC husband cheating on me in our own home. What will happen if I get divorce now, will I loose my GC? If I don't loose it, can I change my last name back to my maiden name? I don't want anything to do with that man anymore, but I don't want additional drama in my life.
Thanks in advance!

I would reccomend you to wait it out.. be nice to him.. and then when you get your GC you just serve him a nice divorce platter.. along with the rest...

Thanks for replying, I already got my GC, but I wonder if a divorce so soon might bring me problems, especially since I want to take my maiden name; it boils my blood just seeing him.

If you have your unconditional GC in hand: nail him.
Changing to maiden name is not a problem; it is actually part of the divorce decree. But you will have to apply for change of GC (I-90).

yup...nail him and split half of his asset. hahahhaa. make sure you document this incident and why you divorce him becase USCIS may do reviews few years later and they may think you are on marriage for green card. Don't think they cannot revoke your GC or citizenship once you have it. They still could revoke your status if they think you violated the law. I read it on the news few weeks back about a chinese lady whom married an american. The chinese lady was on F1 and got GC then citizenship. The chinese lady graduated from a university and joined the army, then discharged few yrs later. The two went divorce for some reason. The lady later work in the pentagon..but USCIS was digging their files and found this case, they did a review and now is charging this chinese lady for immigration fraud even though both sides insist that the marriage was in good faith at that time...but USCIS don't believe them...not sure what was the ending..maybe you should go search the news for this story.

But...don't get scare just becuse of that.. You have to the right to NAIL him and take half of his asset then kick him out of your sight.
