Unclear if I qualify for h-1 status

I have way too many questions but I will keep it short. I am a Canadian citizen that would like to be able to stay in the USA for about 12-24 months. I would also like to continue working for my Canadian company while in the USA but I would telecommute to work. Would I even need a working visa or just a visitors visa? Thank you.
 
thank you but I think there is one snag. I am self employed, I own a corporation in Canada where I am the only employee. I don't think TN Visa's are givin out to self-employed people but I have no idea what other Visa I can get that will allow me to work in the US.
