Hi all,

I want to share with you good news of the approval of my green card. Today we had our first interview scheduled at 9.30 am and we arrived around 9.10 am.

I prepared three folders of documents but found out I didn't use them throughout my interview process at all. Once we were ushered into the interview room by the examiner, he sworn us in. The examiner is in his late fifties or so by my rough estimate. He speaks very fast but softly. Really gentle and mellow guy.

After having us seated, he started to ask for Driver Licenses from both of us and passport from me (beneciary). Then he started to explain to us about conditional GC since we were married for less than 2 years. Once he made sure we understand that, he requested us to sign a document named Section 216 Notice ( 2copies) about this conditional Green Card.

Then he went thru I-485 from by checking off by himself all items in first page. When he turned to the 2nd page (the back) of I-485 form, he quickly asked me those "no-no-no-no" questions.

We were sitting there watching him input all information in his PC, he congratulated us for the green card approval. That really surprised because I was expecting some tough questions to follow, such as where we met and how and show pix... No.. none of these happend to me. The processes ended right there and it took only 12-15 minutes total.

Lessons we learned:
1) My husband and I both wear suits. We believe that played a big role in our super smooth process. So make sure you look professional and confident.
2) Show courtesy and respect. Don't talk too much.
3) Smile.

I am going to receive my card in 15 days.

Thank you, Johnnycash... for your tremendous help and all others who shared their stories here

Congratulations!!! My interview experience is similar to yours. My hubby and I wore suits too. We answered all his questions short & simple. The IO didn't looked at the pictures that we brought and he even returned pictures included in our application. :D

Congrats!!!! I didnt have a bad interview experience either, we did not wear whole suits, but we dressed really nice! :)
