I have a reentry permit and GC. I just sent my application to the UK consulate in LA. Anybody knows how long it takes for them to issue the visa? do I need an extra visa for Ireland and/or Scotland?

I went to UK last year. I had applied for the UK visa online and sent all documents through the USPS registered mail to NY consulate. I got my RTD with UK visa in a seven days!! You don't need visa to Scotland, but I'm not sure about Ireland.
Have a nice trip.

memo:

Please keep us updated for your visa applications to these countries. Thanks.

Sure. I received my visa to the UK one week after I mailed my passport. The visa is valid to go to the UK, Scotland and Northern Ireland. In order to go to the Republic of Ireland, one needs a separate visa to that country. It takes them three months to issue it per the email I received from them!

No visa for Ireland

Ireland is one of the few countries that don't require a visa from refugees to visit

What about Austria? Does it need a visa if we have RTD plus GC in hand?

Yes, you do. I just went to Austria last year with RTD and GC and I had to get a visa. The lady in the Austrian consulate in NY was so rude. She hated that I came in with RTD and kept asking me for my passport. I told her I would like to use RTD. She finally agreeded to accept it even though it was more work for her because she had to obtain permission from Austria Foreign ministry for me to use RTD.

Hi, can anyone show me an official website where it says that a visa is not necessary to visit Ireland on an RTD? I can't find it anywhere.
