Can i apply for the lottery? I was born in Hong Kong central but my first passport was british citizenship that I got from one of my parents who is british. The uk does not do a born on soil & grant citizenship rule like the usa does, you need to gain it through one your parents.

So this confuses me, I was born in hong kong 18 years ago before it was handed back to china and my first passport was british. Am i hong kong native, can i apply? My Passport clearly states my birth place was Hong Kong. It also states people born in hong kong sar can apply, i do not understand by the SAR. Can i apply?

If you were born in Hong Kong and the rules say natives of Hong Kong are eligible then you are eligible to apply..

Anyone born in Hong Kong or Hong Kong SAR [(Special Administrative Region) of the People’s Republic of China] (PRC) are eligible to apply. So go ahead and apply since you qualify.
