the way I see it , its good for us who have thier I-485 pending
Because there are less H1-B jobs there are better chances to find good jobs or more competitive salaries / contract rates ?
I don't see this as an anti-immigration policy just a correction in the current economic condition.
Correct me if I am wrong ?

No, this is just a change in the cap - which was in the law back when it was passed in 2000. This isn't a "change".
This is very old news.
I don't see any harm with this change. In a way this is good for both who are already in US and those who're planning to take up a job in US.
There is no point for anybody to come here after displacement from India and find out in a short while that there are no more jobs seeking that professional and displace back to India. Similarly, alongwith hundreds of thousands of US citizens there are double or more Indian workers who are either laid off or are feeling immense pressure at the work place. This will help ease their life a bit.
By saying so I don't want to sound like a person in a life boat of a sinking ship, who don't want more people to board, after securing the seat, for a fear of sinking of the boat too. But, today the situation is such that one should accept this development with open mind.

The cut could be a good news to the future or current 485 applicants because it reduces the load of the BCIS.
This cut, however, could backfire to the US high tech workers as it may trigger companies to do more offshoring. Unless the govt bans offshoring they will only see their jobs going overseas.
