Hello i have a question to ask if any one of you can help me out on this.

I am u.s citizen but was addopted by american parents. i am married with a girl from my home-country, i brought her over to u.s, she is already in u.s with me.

now her (my wife) mom passed away years ago then her father married my bio-logical mother so my biological mother became step mother of my wife, which i have no ties with her since i was addopted years ago by u.s guardian/parents.

now the question is my wife's father who was widow* married my bio-logical mother who was also widow* they both got married. so now when my wife becomes citizen of u.s can she bring/sponsor her father and step-mother to u.s on visit or through immigrant visa?

just to remind you that they both got married when the girl(my wife) was under 18.

Your replies will be most appreciated, i am pleased to hear from anyone of you thanks.

I think that if she becomes American Citizen, then she can sponsor them because she was under 18 when they got married, something similar happened to a friend of mine, her step daughter petitioned for her and she got a GC.

You have kind of a weird case, looks like if you would be married to your sister, but it doesn't have anything to do with the petition, especially since you are not legally related to your biological mother anymore since you were adopted by different parents.

What I know almost for sure is that you can't petition for your biological mother because you were adopted by someone else, you're not related to her anymore.

Good Luck!

Thank you so much diegowarrior for your reply. by the way when your freind sponsor her step mother how long did the process took place? my wife have conditional GC can she sponsor her step mother and her father on GC? if so then how long will it take/once she become citizen can they speed up the process for her parents?

Any one else who can give comments on this please i've seen jackolantern, tripple canadian citizen guy giving alots of comments please reply any one out here.

oh thanks concerned4us for your comment i never knew this, till you told me this. so when my wife becomes citizen she can sponsor for her step mother and father,

just to remind you her step mother(my bio-logical mother) is 15 yrs older then her father, i asked couple of people they said no thats not a big issue since they both r widowed and seeks a life partner, love doesnt count age so i assume that wont be a big issue 15 yrs difference.

Given the special circumstances, I'd advise working with an immigration attorney to avaoid any potential problems that might arise from the unusual history.
