U:- Legal Advice Needed

Hi Rajiv ji, I am complete newbie on the immigration rules and legal process in US. Need some information on whether the following scenario is legal and valid.

I am currently on a H1B visa for comp A and planning to file for a H1 transfer to compant B. I know that, once the transfer is filed and I get the receipt#, I am eligible to work with the hiring company (comp B).

My question:
1) Is it legal to still continue working for the current company (comp A) during the h1 transfer process ?
2) Is it legal to continue working for the current company (comp A) after the transfer is complete and waiting for to get a project through the hiring company (comp B) ?
3) How long does it take for the h1 transfer process currently ?

Another question on GC:
1) My hiring company is wiling to file for my GC in any process (pre-PERM, or PERM) I opt for. Which process is more advisable in your opinion ?

I would appreciate if I could get some legal suggestions on the above cases. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Sanatan Patra
