After filing my wife's N-400 application based on 5 yrs continuous presence after GC we realized that there was a typo error for our marriage date on the application. I am a naturalized US citizen

We received FP notice for Aug 21.

Can this error be corrected during interview process? If yes then should this be pointed out to the IO or wait if the IO asks about it?

OR should we expect an RFE?

Any hekp is appreciated

Thanks for the guidance

When IO is told about change to marriage date due to typo, is documentary evidence required e.g. Marriage Certificate to support the change?

If they don't have the marriage from a previous application (let's say for the Green Card application) it would be good to go to the interview with a photocopy and translation if needed. I would assume they already have the marriage certificate on file.

To save yourself and wife a nightmare, take all required documentation, including your marriage certificate. You didn't do anything wrong, it is just a typo which can be corrected at the time of the adjudication for N400. Don't lose sleep over it, enjoy life and wife, USCIS isn't that awful, but absurd..:D

This is what I did..

I filled out our marriage date wrong with the mm/dd/yyyy confusion. I didn't realize until the IO asked me and she corrected it by hand. I had the marriage certificate but she didn't even look. I think you are alright.

Bring the original marriage certificate to the interview. Sometimes they ask for it, even thought it's a standard 5-year case. And because of this date typo, in your case there is a greater than normal chance that they will ask to see the certificate.
