hi all,

My wife has two visa stamps in her passport.
H4 Visa stamp (Issued in Oct 04)valid till Sept 2007
B1 visa stamp (Issued in Nov 04)valid till May 2005

When getting the B1, she was told that her H4 will be cancelled. But the COnsular officer did not put the "Cancelled without prejudice" seal on the H4 visa stamp. She went to the Calcutta consulate today for a H4 visa stamp again, with the assumption that the old H4 is not valid anymore. But, the consular officer told her that its NOT required and she can have two visas on her passport as long as they are not cancelled and she can enter the US on her H4 visa, since its anyway valid till 2007. She was told that she can apply for a H4 again only in the event of the H1 hloder changing jobs. I havent done that yet.

I guess, she has no choice but to travel. Will there be any issues at the port of entry ?
Is this a normal ?
thanks,
gxr

Thanks for the response. Checked with an attorney who confirmed what you just said.
