Hi Gurus

I have 2 questions

1)Is there any website which tells us about how many cases of 485 filed with INS -Veromont on monthly basis.
So that we can try to calculate how much time it takes.
2)I got my EAD and my attorney did not apply for my AP(though I told him to do so).Now he says as I have applied and I live in
New Jerscy, I don\'t need to apply to Vermont, and I can go directly to Newark INS office and can take in a day.
Is it correct? He also says New Jerscy residents are not allowed to apply AP to VERMONT, they have to take it from
Local INS Office in Newark.Is it correct? Please advise me. As I came to this country in 1996 with Single entry and then changed
into H1B, but never went back. I want to take AP so that incase of any emergency I can go and come back.
Please advise me is there any problem with that, do I need to go to Local consultate.
I have all valid H1B\'s and I 94\'s are with me.
Friends do you suggest any other idea?

1) I don\'t think any web-site can give you an accurate information of how many I-485\'s are being filed at any Servive Center.
2) a: Yes, you can apply for your AP at the local INS District office.
2) b: No, New Jersey residents have the full freedom to apply for their APs at INS Vermont.

I think your lawer is stupid...making you foollll...bcos
I live in NJ, I applied AP to VSC, I got it in 40 days with EAD 90 days. I dont know local INS (NJ) process ur AP or not, check it any way.

Thanks for your response.Nobody replied to my second question that I have single entry, can Igo to India and come back with
AP now with out going to Consulate? Is there any problems, as I never been to out of country for last 5 Years?

NearToGC: The purpose of AP is to have the visa to enter into USA before leaving the country, so when you come in you dont have to go anywhere just take the AP board the flight and come to USA, no Consulate office ...etc..
