Hi everyone,
As I am getting ready to start I-130 process (for 129F -> K3 visa for my wife who is living outside USA), I have the following questions. I will appreciate it very much if anyone can help.

-- [01]: What is considered a "certified copy of marriage certificate"? Is it a notarized photocopy of my marriage certificate?

-- [02]: On form G325A for myself (a US citizen) do I need to list my address outside USA even though that was more than 9 years ago. Or should I go back only last 5 years?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

1. I would think that it is either a copy of your marriage certificate certified by the issuing agency or as you said a notarized photocopy. Maybe someone else will know for sure, or you can call the 800 number to ask what exactly they need.

2. Where it says "Applicant's residences last five years" you only have to list your addresses of the last five years. Where it says "Applicant's last address outside the US of more than one year", it doesn't matter how long ago it was. As the instruction says: your last address outside the US, where you lived for a year or longer.

Good luck!

I really just added a color copy of my marriage certificate. BUT (as always there is a but :) ) normally at the courts (in the US) can issue a copy of your marriage certificate, but if your marriage was outside the US I don't know how it works is different by country. In that case I just would make a copy of the marriage certificate and notarize it. Where did you get marry?

Good luck,

Patty and Cherr, thanks for your replies. I got married outside USA, about a month ago and I have a marriage certificate. Probably safest way is to make a photocopy and notarize it? Do you think that should work?

About the G325A question, there are two sets of G325A forms. One for myself (USC) and other for my wife (non-citizen living outside USA). I happen to have lived outside USA for a job longer than a year, 9 years ago. I suppose I should just list that address and not think much about it.

Thanks again for your help.

Regards,

Hi douggg!

Yeap, a photocopy of your marriage certificate should be okay, you can notarize if that makes you feel better, there is nothing bad with it.

Yes, in that part states that does not matter how years ago was if it was more than a year abroad you should listed. Yes, the address/place and the year range.
