I suspect that the approval you are alluding to is family based although the USCIS has managed to do wierder things before.
 
Possible. However, since we know that

they have started processing some 4-02 cases in the past couple of weeks, I suspect that they might also be picking up some 5-03 ones. All the earlier approvals for that dat are most likely the kind that you are referring to. Just my $0.02.

Very encouraging news! My ND was June 04, 02, so I saw some light on the horizon. But who knows.

Do they prioritize the case processing by category, say EB 1, 2, and 3, or just randomly pick, like playing slot machine

I guess your $0.02 cents was good(whatever that meant) - but for the typo.

If 05/02 cases are being picked up then there's point to what myself and paulclarke1 referred to here in the forum yesterday with regards to the speed.

Yes, there are a few lucky ones who filed I-485 last May.

I checked ND180 and 190. And a case was approved on Sept. 30 in each ND.
