But another way of looking at it is that the date has moved 5 1/2 months in the last 6 months. Hopefully, for all those still waiting, the approval rate will pick up even more.

Hey DMS .. u r very right .. the pace has picked up in the recent months and hopefully it would be pacier in the next few months .. all the best 2001s and then 2002s

in fact, it has moved 4.5 months in the last three months and that's almost a miracle for THE SLOWEST CENTER; if it continues at this pace, all of 2001 would be none within the next four months..and that's what we are hoping for..

There are a lot of pointers .. we see

more 485s approved
less 140s approved ( hardly any )
message for 140 changed from 275-300 days to 350-400 days
H1 cap reached
Officers seem to be at the task even on week ends

All these should result in 2001 back log being cleared by end May

All the best 2001s and 2002s

We have seen around 2000 approvals for the last 2 months. This not only reduces 485 cases, indirectly they need not do APs and EADs for those people. As more and more 485s approved, the workload becomes less and less. I guess in 2 months they complete the 2001 backlog. I also guess when they complete 2001 backlog, with this speed they may complete 2002 backlog also in another 2/3 months.

becasue of ...

Because, it is a cumulative effect for any situation.

So far it is.

because of more and more EAD/Aps, 485 becomes slow,
because of more and more 485s EAD/Aps becomes slow and everything is slow.

Now the equation is:

because of more and more approvals of 485s, very less work on EAD/Aps.
because of less work on EAD/Aps – more and more approvals of 485s.

Every bit helps and like sss234 said, each 485 case carries with it 3 - 4 associated tasks / issues to be cleared ..

Hats off to TSC .. in the recent past you have been the FASTEST .. keep it up

another point to note

Perhaps they have shifted some officers working on H-1's to process 485's. If this is the case the speed will continue until Oct 1 when the premium processing hits for H-1 and then all officers will be working on H-1’s.

Hopefully congress does not mandate something else to be processed in between now and then.

These are just my assumptions and not based on any facts.

HERE IS SOME MORE ANALYSIS

Date ................CSC...........NSC..........VSC............TSC

Jan 15, 2003..11/16/01..08/01/01...10/15/01...11/01/00
Mid Feb 2004..12/16/01..09/30/01...01/31/02...05/23/01

In the last 13 months

IN TERMS OF PACE AT WHICH 485s ARE CLEARED

TSC is the FASTEST ( 7 months Progress ):)
VSC is poor second ( 3.5 months progress)
NSC is poor third ( 2 months progress )
CSC is the last....( 1 month progress )

IN TERMS OF ABSOLUTE DATES

VSC is FIRST ( FEB 2002 )
CSC is SECOND( DEC 2001 )
NSC is THIRD ( OCT 2001 )
TSC is FOURTH( May/June 2001 )

TSC IS BEHIND

VSC BY 8 MONTHS
CSC BY 7 MONTHS
NSC BY 4 MONTHS

BUT WE WILL GET THERE GUYS :)

wish485, your analysis is great.

Hope, very soon TSC beats all other SCs.

In 1 or 2 months EAD/APs may become Current.
In another 6 months 485 backlogs may reduce to 6 months..
( I am too optimistic...)

sss234 and other fellow TSCians,

I am also optimistic and we sure will see progress in the next couple months and we will catch up with the rest of the SCs
