If they process at this pace then the 45000 cases should clear off
within 5 or 6 months. But from the past six months the dates are not
moving past march 2000 and the cases are not reducing below 40,000.

Dont know what to believe........

Any comments?

Updated 05/10/2002: Patience Needed for TSC 485 Waiters

Report indicates that the Texas Service Center is currently processing about 1,500-2,000 cases per week. Why then TSC 485 cases are not moving in the TSC report? TSC reports that they are focusing on scheduling the older cases from 1999 and 2000 for fingerprints so that these cases can be completed. Accordingly, the 485 cases are currently held at March 2000 so that the TSC can clear out the older cases. For the later filers, patience is needed.

Thanks
Naveen

I believe so, the number of 485 cases stayed the same because added new filers from recent 140 appro

Does that mean they are not issuing new FPs for people in 2001 and later

Are they are going to process the cases that already did the FP from 2001 and later.

The message is not clear on these two points?
Anyone has more info

Gking, your guess about the bug may be right.

I guess that the system clock of the FP scheduling computer has one-year offset, that is, it is still in Year 2001. It is also possible that algorithm issues FP notice based on month and date. The year field is ignored. This is why 2001 and 2002 cases are moving in parallel.

Thanks a lot for your hard working!

You gave me a lot of hope during these dark days! Thanks!

Should these 1500-2000 cases also include family-based cases?

If that is the case, then those family-based cases are not required to file I-140. They can directly file I-485.
