My wife and I got our 485 approval in the mail. We were checking
the status regularly using the TSC automated system and it always
said "We received your case .... 240 to 365 days ....".
PD : 7/99
RD : 3/00
ND : 4/00
approval : 6/01
category : EB2, RIR
country : India
EAD : applied twice & approved
Adv Parole : applied twice & approved
We got our passports stamped in Atlanta.
- reached around 10.00am which was a bad idea as the
INS office opens at 7.30am.
- Waited outside in line till 12.30pm and then
were allowed to pass through the security check.
- Waited in line inside the building to receive a
processing token which indicates the room to go to
and a processing number.
- around 2.15pm, got our token. We also needed to fill
out a form (think ADIT, not sure) which requires
some very basic information .. name, address, father\'s
name, mother\'s name etc. Proceeded to the room.
- at about 2.55pm, each of our numbers were called to
proceed separately to different counters. Handed
the following required documents ...
- Original Approval notice
- Passport
- EAD (all, 2 in my case)
- Advance Parole (all, 2 in my case)
- 2 ADIT (standard immigration) style photographs,
need to write with a pencil, your name & the
approval notice A# on the back of each photograph.
- the form
Finger prints were taken and the passport was stamped.
The stamp is valid for a year and can be renewed in
case the card does not come by then.
- We were told "The card will mailed to you ... soon".
The only suggestion from our experience would be to arrive
early, carry a bottle of water and maybe an umbrella in
case it rains as you could be waiting outside.
I will be checking this site often if anyone has questions.
All the best to you all, your approval is just around the
corner.
Thanks to all involved for keeping this site active & for
all the participation.
