Trip to Australia

As far as I know, US green card holders don't need entry visa to Canada, Mexico, and Switzerland. Not too sure about Australia.

Every country needs a visa to go to Australia. I think the only exception is New Zealand.
Not even that. Everyone except for Australian citizens needs a visa, even Australia permanent residents (they call it returning resident visa).

New Zealanders get the visa on the arrival, then some nationalities can obtain so called "ETA" (Electronic Travel Authority). Then some nationalities (mostly Central Europeans from nations that joined EU 2 years ago) can apply for a tourist visa online (non-ETA), but need to get a stamp for a business visa. Others need a stamp for both tourist and business purposes.
