I tried to initiate Status Enquiry calling VSC directly but they told me even if processing date on web is June, 2003 , it is not yet updated in their system yet so they can't even initiate the enquiry. So I have to call back when the date is updated in thier system. It's Pathetic

If any of you guys succeed in initiating a status enquiry in future please post it on this thread

Thanks

They don't me something different

I tried to open an inquiry about my case also, and the lady told me that the date posted on the website was incorrect and that they were still processing Nov 12 I-485 applications from 2002. She also said that the website would be corrected before Nov 1 2004 to post the correct date of processing.

I also called the NSC today and gave them my RD date of 12/23/02. The correct processing date is June 03.

Rajan,
Are you trying to say it depends on the person you get over phone ?

Yep, just try harder. I also got told first that they still processing Nov 2002, but then I persuaded lady on the phone to refresh the data, she did, and afrer seeing new processing dates, gladly accepted my status inquiry.

I485 RD Feb 2003
No second FP, LUD 07/07/2004

I too initiated inquiry on Dec 2002 RD case. Agent read out proc time as Jun 2003, and took info for my wife and me. She also said that all she can do is transmit this info to IIO, and that she has no access to our personal files (so she knew nothing about LUD). And, taking Cheekoo's cue, I got her agent number for what that is worth.

Let's see if this inquiry leads anywhere......

Chekoo,

Hopefully we won't be backlogged there too

got mine also

we could expect a standard reply...

.......due to resource crunch and heightened security concerns we are unable to process blah blah.....you would hear from us soon.

atleast a line of communication is open now., let us be happy.
:D

My experience with status inquiries ...

Don't want to disappoint you guys, but I think this inquiry thing is mostly useless. All it does is sends some sort of note to the officer and the rest is upto him or the service center. For my EAD/AP I had to initiate three such status inquiries and all I got was a generic blah-blah type security delay letter.

If they do not respond within 30 days, all you can do is call again and start another query. The previous IIO's reference number is of no use! I asked how long will this thing go on (my third time ... and I got no response) ... he said if I do not hear anything again they will go to the 'next step'. When I asked what that would be ... he said he'll mention that I had 3 previous inquiries :o

I called again just to push the thing harder, and a lady was kind enough to let me talk to an 'officer' ... as it turned out, he didn't have access to my files either. And he basically gave me round-about answers and security type excuses ... all of which I heard from them before. So ... I wish you all the best. My time to start a inquiry is coming too (ND May 2003) ... and I'm not very excited about it!

Shaf ....

At your stage .. you should use Info Pass .. get an appointment and talk to some REAL IIO. Over phone .. they are all sub-contractors with limited info.

If nothing happens within these 30 days .. thats wat I am gonna do.

They take 30 days time period to respond. If no response is there before 30 days you need to call them. I just initiated last week.

People, please post ur good or bad exp. who has already gone through this enquiry.

Thanks
