Travelling to PR and VI - questions

Hi,
I've pending 485 in NSC and I'm on H1 visa with a valid approval notice but the visa stamped on my passport is expired sometime back.

I want to know, if travling back to US from puerto rico or US virgin Islands will require a valid stamped visa on my passport or not.

I know travelling anywhere in 48 states, you don't need the passport, only driving license is enough because it is considered as domestic. Is it the same case with puerto rico and US Virgin Islands?

Do I have to go through immigration check in NY while coming back.

Thanks for your help.

Take your I-485 receipt along with your passport. You'll have the immigration status checked at PR/VI airport before aboard flight back to NY. As long as you are under legal immigration status, there's no trouble at all.

Thanks WY2004. But I don't have my visa stamped in my passport. I guess as you said, it should be ok. Thanks
