Coming From Holland Last Week, I Met A Former Co-worker Who Works Now As An Immigration Officer. After We Chatted A Few Minutes, I Asked Him About Visiting Cop, I Explained The Ralated Issues Of Citizenship Interview Etc..
His Answer Was Amazing. 1st He Said I Am In Middle Of Something Let Me Give My Cell, Call Me Later. He Said : Asylee Is A Total Different Status From Permanent Resident. He Said If Any Io Denies Any Body Because He Was One Time Asylee Then Permanent Resident And Had Visited His Cop. That Io Has A Serious Report To Write To District Director For The Reason Of Denial Of Citizenship. He Said Also If A Petition Or Application For Citizenship Would Denied For That Reason The Card Should Be Revoked As Well.he Added Any Immigration Violation, Will Immediately Generate Some Immediate Course Of Actions Handled By The Departemnt Of Fraud And National Security And They Would Never Wait Until Citizenship Interview, To Question A Such Violation If There Were Any.
He Said Once Your Become Pr Your Asylum Is Terminated, Even Though Asylum Ambigiously Means Indefinite Stay In Usa. He Said Once The Pr Obtained You Are Free To Travel Anywhere For 6 Months Or Less Of Stay.
He Said You Will Never Be In Trouble For Visiting Cop, He Said As An Asylee You Won't Be Able To Establish Elibility For The Green Card.

We Talked More And More....

The way you achieved permanent residency is never forgotten by USCIS....Thats why you have codes on your green cards..for some reason obviously...

Your friend is just like millions of officers(high school drop outs as Lazer points out)... out there WHO HAVE no clue what they are talking about. I have yet to meet an officer who knows more immigrant laws than me..

Starting salary of a starting I/O is 20-24K per year. People with atleast associate degrees earn about 30-36K... so it is obvious who would want the I/O job??

I was deravitive asylee, and when I was about to divorce, I sought the advice of professionals. I spoke with three immigration offices and two lawyers. There answers were uninomous. My divorce won't affect my adjustment of status. I went ahead and divorced. When my application was about for adjudication, I got asylum application through mail, asking me to do asylum because of the divorces... :D :D :D So what should we make of IO's advice....
