Travelling To India on emergency

I am going to India for some emergency. I have a valid passport and visa.

My question is

1. The visa stamp if from the previous company I worked.
2. I have new I-797 from the new company.

What documents do I need for re-entry to US and can I travel with the Visa scenario I mentioned above.

Just the passport with valid visa (does not matter which employer's name is on it, it should be valid) and the original I-797 approval notice form the new employer. It will also be wise to have a letter of employment and a few paystubs.

---- If the Visa stamp is Valid, no problem
2. I have new I-797 from the new company.
---- When you re-enter at POE show the passport Visa stamp AND newI-797 and you will get the new I-94 till the validity of new H1 approval notice

---- Passport with valid Visa stamp, H1approval notice and Employer letter , few p stubs(show the employer letter or P stubs only if asked)
