I am planning to go to HAwaii next month. This is my current immigration status: Working in H1B that is valid, but passport is not stamped as I did not leave the country in 5 yrs. Filed for I485, adv parole and EAD and is pending. I have the receipts. Question is, if I fly nonstop from Lax to hawaii, do I have to go through US immigration. No one seems to know. Please help. thanks

This is a US domestic flight. Why would you pass through US immigration. Do you do so when travelling from LA to Atlanta? ;)

No problem!

I know how you feel about the whole immigration thing. But as TheRealCanadian puts it, you have absolutely nothing to worry about! In fact, I went to Hawaii with my girlfriend in April of this year. All they asked me at the gate was my Illinois driver's license.

When you go to Hawaii, go to KC Drive Inn on Kapahulu Ave. in Honolulu and order their famous waffle dog! I also had their famous "plate lunch" with Chicken Katsu (breaded deep fried chicken) with macaroni salad.

In Maui, we had this soft, light sorbet called, "guri guri" at a small ice cream joint called "Tasaka's". It was served in a cup and was quite yummy, too.
