Travelling to COP after US citizenship. Please help!

Dear friends,
I am seeking help from this forum after a very long time but I remember last time when I Needed help everyone here were great. So I got my asylum approved in 2010 got my green card through asylum in 2012 and then just recently became a US Citizen. My question is that am I allowed to travel back to cop for a short period of time less than 2 months and come back without any problems. I have reached out to many lawyers but haven't gotten a straight answer. If anyone out there has been in my situation and has travelled to cop ( country of percicuation) and came back to US please do share your experience with me.
Any or all help is appreciated. Thank you all so much.
 
Yeah, I know few people who went and came back without a problem.
Once you're a citizen, there isn't any restriction on where you can or can't go.
 
I'm curious, if someone is fleeing a country of prosecution for fear of their life.. which is typically the reason behind seeking asylum.. then why is it now suddenly safe to travel to that prosecuting nation for even a single day -let alone for 2 months?
 
The thing is between asylum and citizenship........there is a 10 or more years gap.
So, the reason why a person wont return his country is probably not the same anymore.

I must've missed OP's 10+ year gap somewhere on another thread.
Things must have improved in his country during the intervening years. Which country is this, I'm curious.
 
i know few people who went back to COP and returned without an issue . but if i were you i would not return to COP if you do not want your citizenship to be revoked. but it depends on the condition in your country .
 
Actually I made it from asylum to citizenship in 7 years, I was granted asylum back in early 2010 by immigration judge.

How can you say that the citizenship will be revoked with so much confidence. Have you read any law or have seen somewhere it says that if a USC goes to cop for a short stay his or her USC will be revoked? I mean I understand you are trying to help but if you can provide me with something like that I'd really appreciate it.
 
I am not awared of any case of an american citizen loosing his citizenship because returning to COP. As asylee with a green card Yes, but not as a citizen.

Be careful when you give some advice...

Thank you usc2013. I didn't travel to cop on my Green card. I was asked this question at the citizenship interview, I was aware of that so I didn't and also didn't want to either. Since now I am a USC I think it should not be a problem for me or any USC to travel to their COP for a short visit.

first of all , everything that is mentioned on this forum should be considered as an "opinion" nothing more, always consult with a lawyer .

of course citizenship is more secure than a green card , but revoking a citizenship for misrepresentation or fraud is not impossible , how can you say that returning to COC will not revoke citizenship with so much confidence ?
