I am travelling thru germany. The H1B visa stamped on my passport has expired. However, I had applied for extension and have valid visa till Dec 2004. I also have EAD and AP.

Do I need a German transit visa to travel to India? I am going thru Frankfurt.

No. As explained earlier, I have a valid document showing that my H1B has been extended to Dec 2004. However, my passport shows the expiry date of Feb 2002 for the H1B Visa. When I go out of country, I will get my passport stamped and hence renewing the date on it to Dec 2004.

If you don't have a valid visa stamping in passport, you need an airport transit visa to travel through Germany. According to German Consulate, you need Airport Transit Visa even if you have Advance Parole.

Thanks,
RRK15.
