Travelling on Valid AP, but expired EAD

Gurus,

I am travelling to India on AP. I have applied for EAD renewal which I have not received yet. So when I return my current EAD might have expired. My friend said I should carry valid EAD. Will there be any problem at the port of entry?

Your friend is wrong. The EAD card even says in big letters "NOT VALID FOR ENTRY" - it has no purpose at the border. You just need a valid AP.
