Travelling on L2 after applying for EAD

Can I travel back to India after applying for EAD and come back to US just before I receive the EAD ?

Is it allowed to go out of the country after applying for the EAD and before receiving the card ? Will any documents change on re-entry or will it delay the process?
 
EAD has no bearing on your travel. As long as the principal L-1 status is intact, dependents with L-2 can travel back and forth. I am assuming the L-2 status holder has a multiple entry visa.
