Travelling on AP. please suggest

Hi,
My wife is planning to travel on AP for 6 weeks and want to check what documents are needed for her to come Back.

I recieved 2 single page APs with Photo & A#. Is this the only paper AP means?.

I just came back from oversea with AP, nothing was needed other than the 3 papers of AP ( though I had all my other documents with me), came into the country via LAX airport, no issues at all...

Make sure you take all the 3 papers of AP with you.. Not 2..

Thanks for reply. What does 3 papers mean. I got just 2 papers from INS as AP, yellow in color with the photo on them and both are same. Can u please let me know what is the 3rd paper.
 
You typically get 3 copies of the same AP documents from the INS if you had requested for multiple entry while applying for AP.

However only one AP copy is used at POE. In India while departing (coming back) they ask for a copy of the AP, make sure you give him a xerox copy, if he asks for original tell him you have only one set with you.

At POE you need only one copy of AP to enter, but its better to carry all the copies.
 
Even I have received only two copies of AP. Will it be a problem if we don't carry all three copies of AP.
AK2003, did the immigration officer ask you to show all the three copies of AP?

When my wife was travelling alone, she had all her documents in her handbag, at bangalore the indian airlines people asked her to check her carry on in saying she could get it back in bombay as there was no room to keep it in the over head compartment.

In bombay when she arrived and asked for her carry on bag, she was told that she could collect them in US as it was already checked in, this was the case with most of the passengers there.

Luckily she had an original AP , a xerox copy of AP and Passport with her in her purse, she used it to travel and enter US. At POE, they asked only for her AP and passport.

In mumbai she submitted the AP xerox copy.
