Hello,

Me (previously on H1) and my wife (previously on an H4 visa) are currently working on EAD and we both have our Advance Parole docs valid until Sep 2009. I have an approved I-140. My H1 and my wife's H4 visas' have expired long back.

I switched employers last month. My greencard was applied several years ago through my previous employer and I got my I-140 and EAD when I was with them. I have been renewing my EAD and Adv Parole. My wife will be travelling to India next month for a few months and I will be travelling to India in December 2008 for a month. This is the first time we are travelling on Adv Parole

(1) What documents does my wife need to take with her when she travels to India ? Is just her Advance Parole good enough or does she need to take any additional documents as a precautionary measure. Are Indian authorities familiar with Adv Parole

(2) What would I need to take with me when I fly to India other than my Adv Parole ? I presently donot have any documentation connecting me to my current employer . Do I need to take any document related to my new employer like an appointment letter.

(3) Also do I need to carry any additional documentation as a precaution so that Indian authorities or US Immigration at Port of Entry donot create trouble when I am getting back to the country ?

Please clarify since this is the first time I am travelling on Adv Parole and I also changed employers.

thanks

You need Advance Parole document and Indian passport. Also take your I-485 receipt .When book the tickets inform the agent that you have Advance parole document to enter US. Ask the agent if you will need any transit visa (depends on airline and where you change the flight)
