Travelling abroad btw N400 Interview and Oath - During RFE response

Mine is a slighly complex case. Have been an LPR since 2005 but had to take a foreign assignment in the UK (subsidiary of US company) in 2008 and had got valid approvals of N470 and reentry permits. So was out of country in 2009 whole and filed my N400 in the US in May 2010 (I was in the US from Feb-mid June)

I had my intvw Aug 4th in SFO. The officer did not want to see the additional evidence but insisted it be sent thru mail - so I've begin to wait. I was to get the RFE in a week and then response and decision etc. I've heard that this phase can take a bit of time in some cases.

a) I wanted to know if it is possible to leave the US for a short period of a month or two (provided I keep/manage continuous and physical requirments intact) while the RFE is being responded to and return if an oath or positive decision is made.

b) Also during oath, do they again check/ask trips abroad and other rqmts ie is there any other application forms that we fill in or answer to someone when we come back for oath.

A. Yes it's ok to leave for shorter period during Nat'z proceedings if you keep the presence requirement intact.
B. There is is a questionnaire on the back of the oath letter that asks about the trips, any criminal activity, marriage, divorce, traffic tickets after the interview and right before the oath date, that you will fill up and turn in before oath.

Any status update

Finally, what happened to your case? What was RFE for and how long it took USCIS to adjudicate after RFE response review online status change?

I had the same question my self and i was recommended NOT to leave not even for short time. its up to you of course, but according to my lawyer (and i don't know already if any of them know what they say) you shouldn't leave until you finish the process... mine was very strong minded about that saying they can even deny me due to that trip (i have a lot of trips during the last few years. 2 of them were long- one is less then a year and one is 2 days less then 6 month... but even with all the trips i have about 700 days out side in the last 5 years) and still she said it can hurt me and i should wait for the whole process to end before i take a flight!

actually i have a question about that as well - did anyone heard about someone who got deny for the oath based on the fact he left the country ( without breaking the continuous and physical requirements ) ?????
