Traveling While N-400 Is In Process.

Finger printing appointed completed last week. My question is this; I have to leave the US to visit home for two weeks. Am I allowed to travel out of the US for two weeks while N-400 is in process? Since GC, past 4 years and 9 months, I have spent only one month out of the country. From my understanding, while searching the forum and some other sites, is that it shouldn’t be an issue as long I mentioned this trip during my naturalization interview. I would like to confirm it with you all before taking the flight out of the US. Please assist.
Grazie!

I have done this recently, you just need to disclose it during the interview with proper support documentation (copy travel docs, entry exit stamps, etc). Not a big deal in your case i you did not have extensive intl travel before which was bordering with breaking residency rules.

DreamUSA, Thank you very much for your kind response. I am bit confused what did you mean by "copy travel docs". I hope i don't need some other traveling document beside my GC and passport.
Thanks again.

No issues. Please visit your home country. have fun! Please make sure not to stay for more than 6 months.

Please make sure to have your passport stamped with exit dates/entry dates. When you have an interview, please tell io of your trips.

Happy holdays!

Don't rely on passport stamps alone, tho. In some countries they wouldn't stamp a passport unless it's someone from a different planet (and then maybe ). Or, you may luck out and the stamp is defective or illegible (May 23 vs 28, don't ask, stamps on TWO passports said May 23 but my itinerary and knowledge said otherwise, the stamp was impossible to read clearly) and so on.

In this day and age any reservation you make will have an email confirmation and itinerary, so use these. It's not a complicated question in either way but it helps to have everything crossed, dotted, etc.

By travel documents, I mean the copy of tickets, reservations, passport stamps, hotel stays and etc. Something to prove your statement that you left US on DAY X and returned on DAY Y. As you know, USCIS/US Board Control do not stamp your passport for exit. If you travel on business, your company or travel agency can provide you with some of the above listed docs.

I travelled between my FP And Interview. During the Interview IO Asked me did you travel after filing the Application and after my Positive reply took my passport and wrote the dates when i was out. Simple.
