Hi! I'm applying for the DV-2011, and want to travel to the US for a couple of weeks. Could my application bring me any trouble when going into the US as a tourist? I'm affraid that since I'm applying for a GC, they might think that I'm going into the country with the intention of not leaving. I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Nope....maybe if you win and apply for the GC process but not if you are just entering. I have friends entering and leaving the US every 3 months on tourist visa's and they are doing that for at least 10 yrs now...hardly ever had a problem as long as you have a retour flight ticket. They are also playing for the last couple of years without succes so far.
Thanks so much for your answer!! So now I have another question: having an Italian passport, I think the longest I can stay as a tourist is 3 months, right? If I stay there for that long, after I leave the US, how long would I have to wait to go back? Maybe you know this by your friends. Thanks again!
A week or 2 weeks....officialy just leaving and coming bck is okay, but from friends who do it every 3 months, I have heard they ae starting to be more strict and are asking more questions...so a couple of days if it is your first time, if you do it more often a little bit longer to be on the safe side.
Officialy you could go over the border to Canada or the Bahamas and come right back...but it will raise a lot of questions, which you don't want to deal with....maybe you won't have an issue, but you never know who is the person at the border asking and checking you...
