Traveling to india

My H1b visa stamped on my passport with my previous employer expires on Oct 31st 2009.I have a valid I-797 with my new employer till Aug 31st 2011.I transferred my H1b visa in 2008, so the employer on the visa stamping is different from the one on I797.I am planning to take a trip to India and return before the 31st of october 2009.In this situation do I have to go for visa stamping in India before I return or is it not necessary.

I am planning to gor mexico for visa stamping after i return from india.

when enter US show the valid Visa stamp through previous Employer that is valid till Oct 31st 2009 AND also Show your H1 transfer approval notice that is valid till Aug 31st 2011 at . You will get I-94 till Aug 31st 2011.(keep the new employer letter with you and show only if asked at POE.)
