Traveling to Canada

I have a question. I am green card holder but do not have my physical card yet. I have stamped passport. I am traveling to Canada next month. Can I go to Canada without physical card in hand and without Canadian visa too? Only with I-155 stamp? Do Canadian immigration officer at border stamp green card holder’s passport, meaning giving them certain entry and exit date? Basically do Immigration at Canada stamp passport if one has I-155 stamp in the passport?
Anybody with experience pleases reply.

will Canadian immigration stamp my passport? and if yes how many days/months they will give me to stay in Canada?
 
Well, if you fly

They will stamp your passport and may give you 6 months
