Traveling outside US when OPT processing?

Dear fellow.

I'm graduating in the middle of May 2008, and I just send my OPT application to Vermont Ctr. I filled in my start day will be 6/27/2008. Due to some family issue, I'm planning to travel back to my hometown before my OPT start. Once I leave US, am I able to re-enter again? or What kinds of doc am I need? I think I will not get my EAD or new I20 before I start my trip.

You can travel pending OPT.

As far as the douments, I-20 and valid visa. I would think that the requirements are the same as there are for student visa travels. Also, carry the receipt for OPT pending application.
