Traveling abroad

I am planning to travel abroad. I have the re-entry visa document from the immigration and my green card. I also have a visa from the country I am traveling to. Do I need to have a pasport when I came back to U.S.
or is the re-entry visa document enough.
I don\'t need a pasport to have a pasport to the country where I am going to since I have valid travel documents ( Green Card and The re-entry visa)

Travelling Abroad

I have H1B VISA valid till 2004 Feb from India.I am Indian citizen.
I want to travel to abroad(not India).I have obtained a Tourist VISA to that country .Do I need a VISA to enter in USA from "THAT" Country(not India)? Or I can come back on same H1B that I had from India?

Check INS/travel.state.gov sites

I think you do have to have passport to be admitted inside US
