I found a service error on my I-94 when I got my H1B approval notice last August. My citizenship was typed wrong. I called the national service centre 3 times. Every time they asked me to wait for 30 days for correction. Nothing happened. My employer sent a request for correction last October. No response so far. Now I need to travel to Canada for visiting my family. Do I have any trouble when I return to the States ?

Thanks.

You could have walked to the nearest POE or local INS office and fixed it in 15 minutes.
I94 is only used for tracking your movement, should not be a problem.

Jaxen, thank you for your reply. Here is my story:

The local INS did not correct my I-94 and told me to write to Texas center. Then I called the local POE (I cannot walk in because I need an appointment). The officer told me that I surrender my wrong I-94 when I leave the State and get a new one at the border when I re-enter. He was very positive. I told him I am Canadian.

Do you believe the officer?
