Travel with stamp only?

Lots of people here in the forum have travelled just with the i-551 stamp on their passport. Only think you got to take care is to get a transit visa to the country through which you might travel to your ultimate destination, but on the other hand if the transit country (check their website search in google for it) honors stamping you are good.

My friend who has just stamped his passport in LA does not have the Plastic Card yet. For urgent reasons he is planning to leave for India. Does he need to carry any additonal paper to be on the safe side (Approval notices etc.)? Or the passport stamp ( I-551) is good enough to reenter this country?

just stamp to get in from canada

I was in Canada last week and at re-entry the officer looked at my passport
typed some stuff in and stamped the passport, took a whole 30 seconds and I was not even asked 1 question. I did bring my approval notice because I wanted to be on the safe side however it was not requested. couldn't be much smoother than this

Not a bad idea to take the approval notices along with the stamped passport while you travel until you get your physical card.

You are the best judge follow your mind and good luck
