travel with green card

Hello everybody,

My husband and I got our green cards recently. Our son is born here. We are planning to go to India for 5 months. My husband's project is expiring in June and we are planning the trip around the same time. Right now we are thinking of buying one way ticket, so that my husband can come first and get a project and we can come directly to the city where he gets the new job. Is it going to be a problem for us if we buy only one way ticket with the green card? We are planning to buy the return ticket in India. We calculated the expenses and it is much cheaper for my son and me to go directly to the new place. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

The ticket doesn't matter, although it may raise some security check by the airlines. But be sure to return within 6 months, or you would have to get advance permit from State Department.

One way or roundtrip tickets doesn't matter to immigration or re-entry. You have to follow the rules.
