Travel while on I-485 without EAD

Hi all,
I have applied for I-485, for a little over an year. I did get my renewed EAD and AP. My wife got her renewed AP, but her renewed EAD got somehow misplaced in the postal mail. She is planning to go to India in the coming month, How does this missed EDA affect? and What documents does she need to carry besides her passport?
Please let me know at the earliest guys, so that I could get them from my attorney?

EAD is of no use re-entering the country. All she needs is the passport and AP; if you have a copy of the I-485 receipt you may want to bring that too, just in case.
