Travel to USA after Dec-30-2003 without PR Card

Experts please advice.
I heard that if you want to travel to USA and come back to canada after Dec-30-2003 you don't need PR card.
Is that true?
Any help will be appreciated.

Where you heard that? According to CIC site all landed immigrants need PR card after 31 December 2003 to enter Canada.

Travelling to canada in my own car which is not a commercial carrier. Check FAQ on CIC cite in PR card section.
 
PR only required when you enter canada by Commerical means . Driving in your own car is okie to enter without PR card
