Travel to Tijuana

I have a vailid H1 B stamped on My Indian Passport. If I travel to Tijuana (less than 72 hrs) and back - will they issue me a new I-94 and do they stamp it on the passport - so technically would that be considered the date I last entered the United States?

I've crossed Tijuana, I walked in and only showed my driver license... no passport necessary.

Yes, I read that he has green card.
