I wrote to New Zealand Consulate General in LA and got immediat response. Hope it helps a bit for anyone who's seeking nice vacation spot overseas.

Dear Lin:

New Zealand does accept a US travel document. However you are required to apply for a visitor visa which will take 7 - 10 working days to process. Please note that as we can not guarantee an application being approved, although you will need to make airline reservations, please do not purchase a ticket until a decision has been made on your application.

Yours sincerely

i went to australia and NZ last april and its the best country with nice ppl. The embassy is also very nice. I gave me them everything but they called and said to provide my home mortgage papers and thats all. They don't treat RTD's as crap but a valid document with some respect.

Also landing in australia is a little tricky since they dont allow any food medicine or anything like that so be careful..but they are nice..immmigration is very nice there..They treat you humanely and don't look at RTD's as some kind of fake document...

Hope this helps...i got my visa in 7 days..
