Travel to Mexico with Green Card only.. Expired Pass Port... Yes or No?

Hi everyone and thanks for the help in advance.

So the exciting thing is that my American girlfriend just won a fully paid for 1 week trip to Mexico for two.

It is tomorrow and we have to accept or refuse the offer within an hour.

I have a green card, but no re-entry permit, or a valid passport from my original country. Just the Green Card.

The trip is by air.

Would I be allowed to enter Mexico? Would I be allowed to re-enter the U.S.?

Please advise

A passport is not required to return to US, just your green card. Check with Mexican consular office for requirements.

I didnt take my passport to MX, just greencard and didnt have any issues

Nice. Where did you go, by the way? Was it to the border region, or somewhere further south?
