Travel to Mexico border

Hi,
I have valid H1b1 visa till nov 2003 and my i-94 expires in oct 2002. i want to travel mexico boreder to get new i-94. do i need to have mexico visa to enter and get back to usa immediately? please advise me?

Yes

you need mexican visa, unless you are planning to walk upto the no man's land and walk back into US.

I have no idea about no mans land. I am planning to go to the border from los angeles. just want to cross the border and enter from INS gates. so what is required in this case? thanks in advance.
